Greylands Guest House is conveniently situated in the heart of Llandrindod Wells, close to a fantastic choice of routes for all kinds of cycling from serious road racing to gentle cycle touring with the family. The guest house has a garage for storage of your bikes overnight, and we are always happy to provide routes and advice about where you can find just the right kind of terrain for you.
If you are interested in the history of cycling, the National Cycle Collection is based at Tom Norton's Automobile Palace in Llandrindod Wells, just a short walk from Greyland Guest House.

Road cycling/racing Powys has roads to suit all kinds of cyclists, from the gentlest of routes between sightseeing spots, to challenging climbs and furious descents for the committed road racer. If you want hills, Llandrindod Wells and its surrounding area has them aplenty, steep ones, high, seemingly endless ones, big ones, small ones. This is the perfect place to challenge your hill climbing ability to the limit.
Cyclo cross In 2012, the Welsh Cyclo-Cross championships were held in the Llandrindod Wells area, nbased around the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells. There is no shortage of suitable, challenging countryside for cyclo-cross around Llandrindod Wells, and Greylands Guest House is centrally placed for quick access to a wide choice of terrain. If you enjoy a good muddy day out on your bike, Tony will be happy to offer suggestions for routes that will take you where you want to go.
Touring Cycle tourism is a great way to get to know a place. With miles of great roads, offering staggering views of the countryside, Powys is a very popular destination for cycle tourists. Llandrindod Wells is centrally placed in the county and offers a great base for days out riding, or a convenient stop off point between other destinations. There is storage for plenty of bikes in the garage so your bike can enjoy a good nigth's rest too.
Mountain Biking The local area is ideal for mountain biking, with a huge number of natural trails and organised mountain bike activities. There is something for every level of ability from the most raw beginner to the most seasoned expert. Mountains rise and beckon the biker all around Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader, Builth Wells and Llandegley to name but a few. There are also many mountain bike trails around the Elan Valley Reservoirs. Staying at the Greylands Guest House is a great central location to pick and choose the best local trails to ride, and there is overnight accommodation in the garage and an area where you can clean off the day's mud before doing it all again tomorrow.
Bike Hire If you don't have a bike, but can't resist the temptation of the local roads and trails, then there are a number of hire centres locally, who can either delivery your bikes to the guest house, or we can even give you a lift there.
