The Royal Welsh Show

The Royal Welsh Show upheld its reputation as the biggest and best attended event of its kind in Britain when more than 227,000 visitors passed through the gates of the showground at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells.



Although primarily an agricultural show, there is plenty to appeal to anyone having an interest in country life, or food and drink. Tasting opportunities abound and there is always something going on in the main arena from livestock judging to stunt motorcycling.

The Big Cheese Festival

The Big Cheese is a 'must see' attraction for all visitors, celebrating its 20th year in 2017. Portraying the history, heritage and culture of Caerphilly. Families from all over the country flocked to Caerphilly to experience this fun filled programme of activities and entertainment.

The Big Cheese weekend is a FREE event and over 80,000 people are expected in 2017.

The Brecon County Show

Each year the show has 400 horse entries, 100 cattle entries and over 400 sheep entries. The show also hosts a major shearing competition, a poultry show, classes for goats, a novelty and exemption dog show and a dog agility competition. The main ring is host to the spectacular “Broke FMX Motorcross Display Team” and our full program of competition and attractions throughout the day are not to be missed. The Show attracts over 10,000 people to the show and with over 200 trade stands and main ring and sideshow attractions there is plenty of entertainment on offer for all the family.

Brecon Jazz

Over twenty concerts will be held at the major venues in town – Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon Guildhall, Castle Hotel, Brecon Cathedral and The Muse.

From cosy gigs to big bands, from an emerging artists showcase to late-night jam sessions, there really is something for all jazz fans.

There will be street entertainment and activities in Bethel Square, a ‘Food Feast’ next to the Wellington Monument and Brecon Farmers Market at the Market Hall. In addition, Brecon Fringe Festival will ensure there is music for every taste in scores of different venues across the town.

The Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival

This festival, the 32nd, promises to bring you an exciting selection of events that are sure to please the whole family. Whatever your age, you are bound to find something that will interest you, and bring a smile to your face, some might even find you breaking into fits of laughter. The backdrop of incredible Victorian architecture dating from the spa town's heyday, in the late 1800s, further enhances the festivities.



There are theatrical events, the customary torchlight parade, music, dancing and traditional funfair as well as arts and crafts stalls to keep everyone entertained. The main thing is to get into the spirit. You don't have to dress in Victorian costume, but it helps!
